2024 Grant Application Information
The 2024 competitive Core grant application process is complete. Sherwood Trust is not currently accepting grant applications. Below is the timeline from this year for your information.
2024 Core Grant Application Timeline and Requirements for informational purposes to prospective grant partners
Feb. 7 Letter of Interest (LOI) final deadline. Organizations will not have access to the rest of the application until LOI has been reviewed and approved by Sherwood Trust. We strongly encourage organizations to contact Sherwood Trust to discuss their proposal in advance. LOIs are only accepted online through grant application software.
Feb. 23 Organizations will be notified if LOI is approved for application process.
March 7 Deadline for Core Grant Application. Applications are only accepted online through grant application software.
March 22 Sherwood Trust will notify applicants if their application moves forward. Request for a site visit and/or supporting materials will be made as applicable.
April Site visits and due diligence conducted as appropriate.
May Core Grant recipients announced.
Core Grant online application includes the following:
Detailed project proposal with budget, including other income sources
• Key goals to be achieved
• Organization overview, including current organizational staffing
• Financial overview, including current annual budget and three years of past financial statements

Steps to Apply
**If your organization has applied for Sherwood Trust funding before, please DO NOT create a new organization profile online. Contact us and we will create a username and login linked to your organization’s profile.
Read through the Grant Guidelines to determine your organization’s eligibility.
Grant applications materials are all submitted online.
The person who will complete an application needs to create a profile in Foundant, our online system. If your organization has received a Sherwood Trust grant in the past, your organization may already have a profile; please call our office to help make sure your individual profile is connected to the organization history in our system.
Once you have successfully created a profile, you will login and push the “Apply” button at the top of the screen.
Before you submit an online application, you may schedule a meeting to discuss questions about your eligibility or your online application.
Complete and submit your online application on time - early applications welcome! Late applications are not accepted.

Additional Considerations
Sherwood Trust grants are competitive – there are always more requests than can be funded.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their grant proposal with Sherwood Trust in advance of submitting a request to ensure the grant proposal meets Sherwood Trust guidelines.
